Charlotte FC hosts Orlando City SC on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Charlotte, North Carolina (Eastern Daylight Time, EDT, UTC−04:00). That is 17:00 UTC on the same day. The MLS regular-season match will take place at Bank of America Stadium and will be available to watch on Apple TV. With Decision Day approaching, the three points could matter considerably in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Charlotte FC confirmed the kickoff in its official match-time announcement. The date falls one day before daylight saving time ends in Charlotte, so the correct local designation for this fixture is EDT (UTC−04:00), not EST. Fans checking from another country should use 17:00 UTC as the reference rather than assuming their device's time zone is the same as the stadium's.
This is not a playoff game; it is a late regular-season matchup that could influence qualification and seeding. MLS Decision Day is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, after which the postseason field will be determined.
Under the official 2026 MLS playoff format, the top nine clubs in each conference qualify. Teams finishing first through seventh advance directly to the Round One best-of-three series. The eighth- and ninth-place teams must first compete in a single-elimination Wild Card match. Finishing higher can therefore change both the route through the playoffs and opportunities to host games.
The league's playoff projection updated October 26 placed Charlotte fifth and Orlando seventh in the East. Those positions were a snapshot, not final seeds or confirmed playoff pairings. Matches being played during the final two weeks can change that picture before Charlotte and Orlando meet.
Charlotte's club-published qualification scenarios ahead of October 28 identified a win or draw against CF Montréal as one route to clinching a playoff berth; results involving other Eastern Conference teams could also have secured qualification. Whether that happens before October 31 depends on matches whose outcomes should be checked separately. Even if Charlotte has already clinched by kickoff, points against Orlando may still affect its final seed and potential postseason home advantage.
Orlando entered the October 26 MLS projection in seventh place, the last position that qualifies directly for Round One. A strong finish could help the Lions protect or improve that position; dropped points, combined with other clubs' results, could increase the risk of entering the Wild Card round. No single October 31 outcome guarantees a particular seed without accounting for the rest of the conference.
The confirmed streaming destination is Apple TV. Starting with the 2026 season, MLS regular-season matches are included in an Apple TV subscription, without the separate MLS Season Pass purchase used in previous seasons. The platform's availability, pricing and subscription offers can vary by country or account. Check Apple's official MLS streaming announcement for the subscription arrangement and the Apple TV app for the match listing.
For anyone watching live, the scheduled start is 1:00 p.m. EDT in Charlotte, equivalent to 17:00 UTC. Broadcast coverage and pregame programming can begin before kickoff, so the fixture start should not be mistaken for the beginning of any pregame show.
The most immediate storyline is Orlando's result in the teams' first 2026 meeting. Orlando defeated Charlotte 4–1 on April 22, according to Charlotte FC's official postseason-race preview. That result gives Charlotte an opportunity to respond on its home field, but it does not predict the return fixture.
The conference standings add a different layer. Charlotte may be trying to strengthen its position among the higher seeds, while Orlando has particular reason to value points that keep it clear of the Wild Card places. Watch how both teams manage risk if the score is level late in the game: a draw produces one point apiece, whereas a win adds three to the victorious club's total.
Final starting lineups, injuries and suspensions should be checked through official team or MLS match updates close to kickoff. This preview does not treat a projected lineup or an unconfirmed player absence as fact.
Charlotte FC is promoting October 31 as its Fan Appreciation Match, a Halloween afternoon home fixture. The club advertises a pre-match gathering on Legend's Row between the Blue Cross NC East Gate and North Gate, a chance for early arrivals to receive a limited-edition shirt, and a special concessions selection with five items priced below $5. Giveaways are not guaranteed for every ticket holder.
Fans planning to attend can use the official Charlotte FC event page for ticket links and matchday updates. Leave time for stadium entry and follow the club's latest instructions for gates, bags and transportation rather than relying on assumptions about usual event procedures.
Charlotte's published schedule lists an away match against Inter Miami CF on November 7, the league's final regular-season matchday. The Eastern Conference playoff positions will be settled on Decision Day. MLS then schedules the Wild Card matches for November 18, with the Round One best-of-three series beginning November 20.
For now, the essentials are confirmed: Charlotte hosts Orlando on October 31 at 1:00 p.m. EDT (17:00 UTC) at Bank of America Stadium, with Apple TV carrying the game. The precise playoff implications will become clearer after the October 28 fixtures and any other games played before kickoff.
