On the Roblox website or desktop app, sign in and enter your friend’s Roblox username in the search field at the top of the screen. Choose the People category, then select the account that matches. On a phone, open Roblox and tap More at the bottom of the screen, then Friends. Tap the search control, enter the username, and search. Before you tap anything, check the username and profile details your friend has shared. Avatars can change, so do not rely on a picture alone. On the correct profile, select Add Friend. That sends a request; it does not immediately add the person to your friends list. They can accept or decline it, and Roblox will notify you if they accept.
If the profile does not show Add Friend, Roblox says the person may already be your friend. Check your Friends section first. If a request is marked Pending, it has already been sent, so wait for the other person to respond instead of repeatedly sending requests.
If your friend sent the request, open Add Friends or the request area in the Friends section and review the incoming request. On phones, Roblox’s documented route is More > Friends > Requests; choose Accept or Decline. The request count appears beside Friends when requests are waiting. Once both accounts are connected, select your friend’s name in the Friends section to open their profile.

Open the friend’s profile or search result. If they are currently in an experience and allow other players to join, Roblox may show a Join Experience button. Select it to enter the same experience. The button will not always appear: your friend’s visibility and join settings, the experience’s permissions, and server availability can all affect access. Finding someone’s profile and seeing their live activity are separate things. Roblox lets users choose who can see their online status and the experience they are playing. Available choices depend on age and region. If your friend appears offline or you cannot see their current game, they may have limited visibility. You cannot change that setting from your account; ask them to review it only if they want to share their status or allow joins.
Roblox’s current path for visibility controls is Settings > Privacy & content restrictions > Visibility & private servers > Visibility. On desktop, open Settings from the gear at the top right. On mobile, tap More, then Settings. Online Status controls who sees that the account is online; Show current experience controls who sees the game being played. Roblox currently lists a limit of up to 1,000 friends. If a request is not delivered, its support guide recommends checking account limits and trying again later; avoid sending repeated requests to the same person.
Use the username or profile link your friend gives you, and never share your password or verification codes to prove who you are. Contact discovery is optional, and you can leave it off if you do not want to share device contacts. If a stranger contacts you or makes you uncomfortable, use Roblox’s block and report tools rather than sharing personal information.
