The Newest Mount in FFXIV: How to Get Ambulario (2026)
As of October 17, 2026, the newest mount to appear in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store is Ambulario, the pumpkin-headed mount first offered as an All Saints’ Wake reward in 2025. It became available as an optional store item on October 15, 2026. If by “newest mount in FFXIV” you mean a recent mount earned through gameplay, look to Rocket Punch, a reward in PvP Series 12. The two routes are different: Ambulario is a paid optional item, while Rocket Punch is unlocked by earning Series levels through PvP.
This guide explains how to get either mount, where to check your progress, and what to do if a reward does not appear. The answer is time-sensitive: new patches, seasonal events, and Online Store releases can change which mount is newest.
Which mount is the newest in FFXIV?
| What you mean by “newest” | Mount | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Most recent mount listing added to the Online Store | Ambulario | Purchase the single-character mount from the official FFXIV Online Store; it was added October 15, 2026. |
| Recent in-game patch reward | Rocket Punch | Reach Series Level 25 in PvP Series 12 and claim its identification key from Series Malmstones. |
Square Enix’s 7.56 patch notes confirm that the update added mounts and opened PvP Series 12. The later 7.57 notes do not list a new mount, so Rocket Punch remains a useful current in-game option. For the changing store lineup, check the official Online Store’s New Items page.
How to get the Ambulario mount
Ambulario is the clearest answer if you are looking for the newest FFXIV mount currently offered in the store. It is a returning seasonal reward, rather than a mount first introduced in October 2026. The official 2025 All Saints’ Wake preview listed Ambulario among that event’s rewards; after the event ended, the Online Store became the current route.
- Unlock mount riding first. If you are a new player and have never summoned a mount, progress the Main Scenario until you join a Grand Company, then complete the level 20 quest My Little Chocobo. The exact quest suffix and NPC depend on your Grand Company. Square Enix’s mount unlock guide explains this first riding unlock.
- Open the official Online Store. Sign in with the Square Enix account connected to the service account you play on. Search for Mount: Ambulario (Single Character) and verify that you have selected the intended character before checkout. Store prices and availability can vary by region, so use the price displayed for your account rather than an old price quoted elsewhere.
- Complete the purchase. Ambulario was among the optional items made available on October 15, 2026. The official new optional items announcement confirms the release date, while the Ambulario product page is the place to check the live item listing.
- Collect the delivery in game. Store items are sent through Mog Mail by the Delivery Moogle. Delivery may take longer when the service is busy. Check your mailbox and leave space for item letters; if a purchase still has not arrived, review your store purchase history and use the available reward or purchase delivery request option.
- Use the mount item and summon Ambulario. After you receive and use the item, open the Mount Guide from the Character menu, select Ambulario, and summon it. On PC, the
/mountguidecommand also opens the guide. You can place the mount action on a hotbar for quicker access.
Buying Ambulario does not mean you have to repeat the old seasonal quest. The event reward was originally available during All Saints’ Wake 2025; the current 2026 route is the optional Online Store listing. Read the official All Saints’ Wake 2025 preview for the event context.
How to earn Rocket Punch in PvP Series 12
If you want a recent FFXIV mount without buying a store item, Rocket Punch is the PvP alternative. It is the reward for reaching Series Level 25 in Series 12. Series EXP comes from participating in PvP duties; you do not need to win every match to make progress. The official PvP guide describes Series Malmstones, and the Patch 7.56 notes explain that Series 12 runs from Patch 7.56 until Patch 8.0.
- Queue for a PvP mode you enjoy, such as Crystalline Conflict, Frontline, or Rival Wings, to earn Series EXP.
- Open Character > PvP Profile > Series Malmstones to see your current Series level and the next reward.
- Continue until Series Level 25, then claim the Rocket Punch Identification Key from the reward track.
- Use the key from your inventory. Rocket Punch will then be available in the Mount Guide.
Series rewards change over time. Claim the key as soon as you unlock it rather than assuming it will remain available indefinitely. Square Enix’s Series 12 announcement explains how to check and claim rewards in the PvP Profile.
Why “the newest mount” changes
FFXIV adds mounts through several channels: major patches, PvP Series rewards, seasonal events, achievements, duties, and the Online Store. A new store listing may be an older event reward becoming purchasable, as happened with Ambulario. A patch may add a mount reward even when the patch notes do not make one mount the single headline addition. That is why it helps to distinguish “newly listed for purchase” from “newly added as an in-game reward.”
For a quick check next time the answer changes, review the newest Lodestone patch notes and the Online Store’s New Items page. Patch notes are best for current gameplay unlocks; the store page shows optional items available to purchase. This avoids relying on an outdated guide that treats one mount as permanently the newest.
Mount troubleshooting
My Online Store mount has not arrived
Check Mog Mail and allow extra time if the Delivery Moogle service is busy. Confirm the purchase in your Online Store history and make sure you are checking the character selected for a single-character item. Square Enix’s Optional Item Shop support page explains that purchases are delivered in game via Mog Mail.
Ambulario or Rocket Punch is missing from the Mount Guide
Check whether the delivered item or identification key is still in your inventory. Use the item to register the mount, then reopen the Mount Guide. If you bought a single-character item, log in on the character selected during checkout. The Mount Guide can be opened with /mountguide or from the Character menu.
I can summon it, but cannot fly
Mount ownership and flight access are separate. Flight is unlocked by zone, so complete that area’s aether-current requirements before trying to take off. A mount that cannot fly in one zone may still work normally on the ground.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ambulario a new mount for 2026?
It is newly available in the Online Store as of October 15, 2026, but it originally appeared as an All Saints’ Wake reward in 2025. That distinction matters if you mean “new to the store” versus “first introduced to the game.”
Can I get Ambulario for free now?
The seasonal event that first awarded Ambulario has passed. As of October 17, 2026, the current listed route is the optional Online Store item. Store prices are regional and can change, so check the live product page.
What is the current free-to-earn alternative?
Rocket Punch is an in-game PvP Series 12 reward. Reach Series Level 25, claim its identification key, and use it to add the mount to your collection.
Where do I find mounts after unlocking them?
Open the Mount Guide in the Character menu. It stores mounts registered to your character and lets you summon them directly or assign them to a hotbar.
