Yellow or amber can describe the orange Rest Mode light, depending on how it appears. A damaged HDMI port, cable, or display can cause a blank screen; that symptom alone does not prove the console's graphics hardware has failed. Safe Mode starts the PS5 with basic functions and offers options for software, storage, and display issues. To enter it, turn the console off by holding the power button for about three seconds. You cannot reliably confirm a failed internal component from the light color or an external temperature reading.
