To get Terraspark Boots in Terraria, craft Frostspark Boots and Lava Waders, then combine those two items at a Tinkerer's Workshop. The finished accessory brings sprinting, brief rocket flight, improved movement on ice, walking across liquids, and limited lava protection into one equipment slot. You can craft it before Hardmode, but gathering the ingredients takes several trips through the surface, Underground Jungle, Ice biome, Cavern layer, and Underworld.

The Official Terraria Wiki's crafting guide lists the full tree. In the standard Lava Waders recipe, the Obsidian Rose is required; it is not an optional bonus ingredient.

Step 1: Unlock the Tinkerer's Workshop

Defeat a Goblin Army invasion. After you have won one, search the Cavern layer for the bound Goblin Tinkerer. Talk to him to free him, then make sure your town has a valid vacant house so he can move in.

When the Goblin Tinkerer arrives, buy a Tinkerer's Workshop for 10 gold and place it at your base. You will use it for every combine in the recipe tree. Buy Rocket Boots from him as well; they are part of the first speed-branch recipe.

Step 2: Gather the speed-branch ingredients

Start with one pair of sprinting boots. Hermes Boots are a common early find; Flurry Boots, Sailfish Boots, and Dunerider Boots can also be used to make Spectre Boots. The Dunerider Boots' extra sand speed does not carry over to the upgrade.

Find the three remaining speed ingredients while exploring:

Aglet: search surface chests. It can also be sold by the Skeleton Merchant during a New Moon.
Anklet of the Wind: search Ivy Chests in Underground Jungle shrines and Living Mahogany trees, or try Jungle and Bramble crates.
Ice Skates: check Frozen Chests in the Ice biome or fish for Frozen and Boreal crates.

Step 3: Craft Frostspark Boots

Stand next to the Tinkerer's Workshop with the ingredients in your inventory and make these upgrades in order:

Combine Rocket Boots with one of the four sprinting-boot options to make Spectre Boots.
Combine Spectre Boots with the Aglet and Anklet of the Wind to make Lightning Boots.
Combine Lightning Boots with Ice Skates to make Frostspark Boots.

Each result keeps the movement abilities of its ingredients. Keep the Frostspark Boots; they are one of the two final components.

Step 4: Make Obsidian Water Walking Boots

For the liquid branch, find Water Walking Boots in Water Chests, especially in the Ocean or in large pools elsewhere. Then collect 20 Obsidian and smelt it at a Furnace to craft an Obsidian Skull. Obsidian forms where water and lava meet, so take care while mining around those blocks.

At the Tinkerer's Workshop, combine the Water Walking Boots with the Obsidian Skull. The result is Obsidian Water Walking Boots, which you need for Lava Waders.

Step 5: Find the Lava Charm and Obsidian Rose

The Lava Charm can appear in Cavern-layer chests. It can also come from Obsidian or Hellstone crates fished from lava; a Magma Stone can be transformed into one by tossing it into Shimmer. The Obsidian Rose is dropped by Fire Imps in the Underworld, so fight them while exploring the lava layer. The Obsidian Rose has a 5% drop chance, so keep it when it appears.

When you have Obsidian Water Walking Boots, a Lava Charm, and an Obsidian Rose, combine all three at the Workshop to craft Lava Waders. Step 6: Combine and equip Terraspark Boots

Put both Frostspark Boots and Lava Waders in your inventory, stand beside the Tinkerer's Workshop, and craft Terraspark Boots. The final combine needs no extra material. Move the boots into an accessory slot to activate their effects.

What Terraspark Boots do—and what they do not do

Terraspark Boots provide fast sprinting (up to 35 mph), limited rocket flight, and better control on ice. They let you walk over water, honey, and lava, and prevent Thin Ice from breaking when you land on it. They also grant immunity to fire blocks and seven seconds of lava immunity. After that timer expires, lava still hurts, but the boots reduce the damage and shorten the On Fire! debuff.

They do not grant a dash; the dash claim in some older guides is incorrect. If you equip wings, Rocket Boots' separate flight is disabled and instead adds 0.7 seconds to wing flight. For exact current stats, see the Terraspark Boots item page.

Common recipe problems

The final recipe is missing: confirm that both parent boots are in your inventory and that you are standing near a placed Tinkerer's Workshop.
Lava Waders will not appear: check that you have the Obsidian Water Walking Boots, Lava Charm, and Obsidian Rose together. The Rose is part of the standard recipe.
You cannot find the Goblin Tinkerer: defeat a Goblin Army first, then search the Cavern layer for the bound NPC and provide a vacant house.
You keep taking lava damage: seven seconds is a timed immunity, not permanent protection. Leave the lava before it runs out or use additional lava-protection gear.
