1. Read the wave. A wave pushed under the enemy turret usually gives you a safer chance to leave because the opponent must deal with minions. 2. Check your ADC’s safety. Consider their health, summoner spells, mobility, matchup, and the enemy support’s position. Ping your plan before you go. If your ADC needs help crashing a wave or is vulnerable to an engage, help them first.
3. Choose a route with a reason. Move toward a visible play: join your jungler, cover a river entrance, threaten a mid gank, or prepare an objective. Do not walk through unwarded enemy jungle just because a roam looks possible on the minimap.
4. Set a clear return condition. If the gank is no longer available, the enemy disappears, or your team cannot follow, turn back. A short, useful roam is better than waiting in a brush while bot lane loses a wave.

A good support gank starts before you arrive. Ping your route, identify which enemy can be caught, and make sure your ally is close enough to follow up. Approach from fog when possible, but do not spend so long circling that the lane wave or objective is lost. If the target has an escape spell, wait for it to be used or ask your teammate to force it before committing your main crowd control.

Coordinate with your jungler when your crowd control can extend their engage or cover their retreat. Do not bait a fight by standing forward with low health and no vision; the enemy may simply take the kill and leave.
